There are so many things to do in Chiba-ken! Take a look at just a few of these popular and breathtaking tourist attractions.

Mother Farm on Mt. Kano

Mt. Kano is the perfect setting for this running farm. Kids are always fascinated by cows, sheep, pigs, and horses here. The farm is huge with its lush green show grounds. The piggy race and sheep parade are amazing! There are also ducks, chicken and pigeons. The most wonderful aspect of this place is that you can buy some of the special products from the stalls. There are other attractions in this area too including bungee jumping, a maze, horse riding, ice cream, and fruit picking. From January to May the strawberry picking is great.

Mt. Nokogiri

Mt. Nokogiri is another wonderful attraction for family visits and vacations. It is a beautiful site to visit in the Minami-Boso area. The mountain looks like a saw from the sides, hence the name. The journey there is an exciting mix of ferry ride and short walks on the port Kanaya. The best time to enjoy the beautiful place is in the early morning and at sunset. You can see the stars and moon from the observatory that offers a 360 degree view. On a good day you can easily see all the way to Mt. Fuji and even the sea. There is a beautiful Buddhist Monastery at the mountain with great Buddha statue as well.

Kururi-Jo Castle

This well preserved historic castle is located in the area of Kururi Kimitsu. The palace has been inhabited by many of the ruling dynasties including the first Mariya Takeda, then Satomi Yoshitaka, and finally, it was home of Satomi. The tour here is a trip back in time, life has stood still for almost 200 years here. Many of these parts have been the back drop to trade wars and the tides of time. The river Onogawa is the life and blood of this place. This area was populated with some of the original samurai , so many of the streets have been used in recent movies and dramas.
